Cuprian Adamite & Olivenite

Classic Locality

Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Christiana Mine, Kamariza, Agios Konstantinos, Lavrion District, Attiki Prefecture, Greece
Class:
Crystals on Matrix
Size Range:
Miniature (4.5-7 cm)
Size:
6.9 × 4.7 × 2.9 cm
Description

This super specimen features numerous clusters of excellent developed deep green Cuproadamite accompanied by acicluar Olivenit. This stuff was, especially in the 1990s, offered as Philipsburgite but further analysis confirmed, that most of the material was no Philipsburgite but mostly Adamite . In the present sample an analysis could be advantageous as well because the transistions from Cuproadamite to the more rare Zincolivenite are fluid.
