Bournonite

Ex Gerhard Grude Collection - Analyzed
Classic Locality

Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Madem-Lakko Mine, Cassandra Mines, Aristotelis, Chalkidiki, Central Macedonia, Greece
Class:
Crystals on Matrix
Size Range:
Miniature (4.5-7 cm)
Size:
6.1 × 4 × 2.3 cm
Description

This specimen is analyzed because we received it as Seligmannite, this sounded too good to be true. Anyway, this is a super specimen for the locality. Numerous of  gear-shaped, clearly striated crystals of Bournonite, accompanied by light pink Rhodochrosite and sparkling Calcite on matrix. So typical and good. The BOurnonite is excellent developed, sharp edged and top terminated. Good Bournonite specimens from this locality are exceeding rare and consequently hard to come by. This is a super opportunity to get hold of this classic Greek material, from the long time gone heydays.
