Epidote & Byssolite

Classic Locality

Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Knappenwand, Zell am See District, Salzburg, Austria
Class:
Crystals on Matrix
Size Range:
Cabinet (10-18 cm)
Size:
10.6 × 7.9 × 7.6 cm
Description

This impressive specimen features numerous of elongated dark olive green to black coloured crystals of epidote. It comes, for this species,  from the probably most famous locality, the Knappenwand in Untersulzbachtal. The crystals are mirror bright, excellent vertical striated and well defined. I know, that the specimen is not perfect, but I think this is a super opportunity to get hold of a cabinet sized epidote. And such specimens from this locale, even in that size, are rather hard to get.
