Description

This is a piece of petrified wood with amber. The piece was found in the Maxim Gorki opencast mine in Bilina in the Czech Republic. The piece was found in the 1990s. Today, the site no longer exists. The fossil wood is taxodium. The amber is called duxite. The opencast mines Bilina and Most are the type locality for Duxit. The age of the fossil is about 20 million years.
