Description

This is a very interesting artifact from the history of German metallurgy. It is aluminum combined with corundum crystals. In the middle of the 19th century, an attempt was made to produce aluminium directly from aluminium clay. In this experiment, aluminium was indeed produced. However, corundum was also produced as a by-product. A very nice old artifact.
