Description

This piece is a rare artifact. It is a brick of a copper smelting furnace. The old melting furnaces were blown up after they were no longer usable. Parts of the furnaces were often thrown far into the environment. Today, such parts can still be found occasionally. The special thing about this brick is that all clay minerals have been substituted by copper. Thus, the brick is made of copper and quartz. The brick is sawn so that you can see the structure better.
