Description

This is a original horseshoe from a horse that lived and worked underground in a copper mine.

Picture 3 shows a horse at 500m depth at work (1890). 

The horses were brought into the shaft as young animals and remained in the mine for the rest of their lives until their death.

The horseshoe found on the mining dump "Lichtloch 81" near Mansfeld.
