Description

This is a very  interesting artefact. It is a mixture of aluminium (red arrow) and corundum crystals (yellow arros).

This product was manufactured in 1836. It was an attempt to produce aluminium industrial. This attempt was a failure. Instead of producting pure aluminium, corundum crystals were also grown in the melt.

It was found on the "Zinkklinkerhalde" near Hettstedt / Mansfeld / Saxony Anhalt.
