Very interesting group of pseudo-hexagonal crystals of magnesite variety Pistomesite, today Pistomesite is an obsolete name and is only used locally. These magnesite crystals are included in a matrix formed by micro-crystals of magnesite mixed with white gypsum with a granular texture. Magnesite crystals tend to detach very easily from the gypsum matrix and are usually consolidated so that they do not detach, in this particular piece there is a consolidated crystal in its place, and the other crystals are as they were found.
