Description

Very interesting specimen of cordierite of dark blue color with violet tints and almandine garnet crystal on a rhyolite matrix from this volcanic caldera in southeastern Spain. These pieces were personally collected about 45 years ago, today the entire volcanic area of Cabo de Gata and Níjar is a protected natural area and it is not allowed to search for specimens without a special permit.
