Description

Spectacular and very aesthetic group of yellow Kleinite crystals covering a matrix of silicified tuff. Kleinite is a mercury nitrogen chlorosufate of unusual chemistry and is very rare as it is only found in 3 locations worldwide. The McDermitt mine was the last operating primary mercury production mine in the USA when it ceased operations in 1990. Nowadays it is very difficult to find pieces of this quality in the market.
