Description

Very interesting specimen of Uraninite variety Pitchblende on matrix, maybe with others minerals also, from this emblematic German mine collected in 1962, perhaps the largest uranium mine in all of Germany and since it was found in 1957, was always involved in fights with nearby populations that did not agree with these farms near their peoples.

In the boxes where the specimens of the lot that I bought were found, there was a sign explaining that these samples were found in the Brunhilde mine between 1962 and 1965, but it seems that the mine, or the mining area, was called Krunkelbach , and the name of Brunhilde corresponded to a mining union that carried out a mining prospecting between 1961 and 1963, perhaps in the end it gave its name to the group of minefields. In reality, I can not provide many more historical data on this emblematic German mine.
