Quartz Psm Anhydrite

Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Animas District, San Juan County, Colorado, United States of America
Size Range:
Miniature (4.5-7 cm)
Size:
4.5 × 6.5 × 3 cm
Description

I count 10 anhydrite blades that were encrusted by quartz before they were dissolved. Covered with small milky quartz crystals. The last picture shows the bottom of the specimen and the void left by those dissolved crystals. Acrylic base is not included.

This specimen was collected in a near surface pocket and slight damage is possible as a result of the freeze/thaw cycle at this extreme mountain locality.
