Description

This specimen is from the Leadville Limestone in the Ouray Fault, considered by some to be the source of some of the world's best milky quartz groups. This piece certainly supports that opinion. Articles in several Rocks & Minerals have discussed this area. This specimen features "alligator skin" and has perfect luster. Slight chipping is possible as a result of the freeze/thaw cycle at this extreme mountain locality.
