Description

Orange crystalline aldomarinoite (IMA 2021-054).  Aldomarinoite is a new mineral named in honor of the collector and founding member of AMI (Associazione Micro-Mineralogica Italiana) Mr. Aldo Marino, expert in the historical, ethnographic and naturalistic aspects of the Cottian Alps and in particular of the Varaita, Maira and Grana valleys. Aldomarinoite is the Sr dominant analogue of lombardoite, and the Mn dominant analogue of grandaite. Represents the second Sr member of the arsenbrackebuschite group in brackebuschite supergroup.

This specimen belongs to one of the very few analyzed findings of this amazing locality.
