Description

Two hemispheres of bright orange ferrierite-Mg crystals (diam.7.0 mm). A fine specimen of this beautiful zeolite, surrounded by beautiful clusters of calcite crystals and sprinkled with small shiny crystalline clusters of iron and / or manganese oxides. The sample comes from a now defunct location and is hard to find nowadays. Also visible is an aggregate of white palygorskite crystals showing the typical "bamboo cane" appearance along with white fibrous tufts of mordenite crystals. A representative miniature of this beautiful zeolite.
