Description

Scordariite, IMA 2019-010. Structurally related to metavoltine and carlsonite it is a recently approved oxysulfate, the second currently known K-Fe oxysulfate, the other, also present on this excellent sample is giacovazzoite, with which it is chemically related. This two new species has been found in Monte Arsiccio mine, world famous, for the magnificent and rare species that have been found here in recent decades. 

In this sample you can find the scordariite as groups of shiny pseudohexagonal crystals with tabular shape with dark-orange to orange/brownnish color, along with  giacovazzoite as groups of shiny crystals with its classic prismatic shape and its warm orange color.

Very rich excellent specimen!!!
