Description

Parascandolaite is an extremely rare fluoride crystallizes as cubes. In this xcellent rich specimen many groups of cubic crystals coat many areas of the sample together with very small bipiramidal elpasolite crystals. Analyzed from authors.

Named in honor of Antonio Parascandola (1902/1977) professor of mineralogy, geology and later volcanology and physical geography. The mineral was found in scoria formed during the 1944 eruption that Parascandola studied.
