Description

Dingdaohengite-(Ce) is a rare mineral specie, closely related to perrierite-(Ce), found in other four locality world wide. On this good sample there are two crystals in two points, one more robust and one longer and thinner Personally found some years ago during a research campaign conducted as a team with other friends not far from the old abandoned quarry of Conca Cannas, Masullas. The material collected was therefore carefully investigated.

Ref. Research Gate - Analysis in EDS and microRaman spectroscopy and single crystal X-ray diffraction (SCXRD) have allowed the characterization of the rare dingdaohengite-(Ce) among samples collected at Monte Arci ( Masullas, Central-Western Sardinia). This is the first discovery for Italy and the fifth in the world. In the investigated samples, dingdaohengite-(Ce) occurs as elongated red to red-brown, vitreous, prismatic crystals, in close association, according to preliminary studies, with amphiboles and allanitic and chevkinitic phases.
