Description

Outstanding small-cabinet of rare argentotetrahedrite with a multitude of sharp crystals which measure up to 0.8 cm.

Argentotetrahedrite is a rare sulfide of the tetrahedrite group closely related to the freibergite, it's a mineral approved by the IMA, originally published without approval in 1992, redefined with special procedures in 2008. Approved in 2016 as IMA 2016-093. In this sample there are a lot of  shiny, metallic, tetrahedra crystals, together there are a multitude of  beautiful metal needles of jamesonite crystals and many tabular aggregates of metal-bronze pyrrothite crystals, other sulfides and thin and elongated nice quartz crystals. Argentotetrahededrite has been found in very few locations, probably only four. The sample was analyzed. Wonderful specimen!
