Description

Very cute sample of clinoferrosilite.

The clinoferrosilite, Pyroxene Group - Clinopyroxene Subgroup, is a clinopyroxene dimorph of ferrosilite and isostructural with clinoenstatite that has rarely been found in single euhedral crystals.
Recently, some personally collected samples (2003), have been definitively analyzed and classified. As the analytical results confirm, all the crystals, from green-bottle to dark green-black color and even reddish, they are all clinoferrosilite. In this specimen there are a multitude of  nice, sharp crystals, together with small, crystals of amethyst, all stay on a bed of colorless-milky sanidine crystals. From what I know, they are probably the best, known, crystals for this specie. Good sample.
