Description

Argentotetrahededrite is a rare sulfide of the tetrahedrite group closely related to the freibergite, is a mineral approved by the IMA, originally published without approval in 1992, redefined with special procedures in 2008. Approved in 2016 as IMA 2016-093. In this sample there are more tetrahedra formed by groups of shiny metallic crystals, together there is a beautiful biterminated crystal of quartz, a multitude of metal needles of jamesonite crystals and many tabular aggregates of metal-bronze pyrrothite crystals. Argentotetrahededrite has been found in very few locations, probably only four. The sample was analyzed. Good sample.
