Description

A few brown small single crystal aggregates of the extremely rare hafnium mineral hafnon in the exact carbon pad that was used for the analysis of the mineral, from a locality in Canada.

From a total of 5820 mineral species known only one hafnium mineral exists (source Mindat), it is hafnon, so it is a real rarity and a very sought after mineral.

Analyzed specimen by SEM/EDS, see copy enclosed.
