Description

Koenenite is an extremely rare mineral known from a few localities worldwide. It occurs in this specimen as nice orange-yellow sharp crystals in a matrix of colorless gypsum and anhydrite. Chemically, it is a Na-Mg-Al chloride. Aesthetic thumbnail for the color contrast between both species.

Very sought after systematic mineral rarely seen in the mineral market.
