Caysichite-(Y), is not an aesthetic mineral but it has the particularity of being the only mineral from more than 5500 minerals known with the very rare chemical element Erbium in its chemical composition!.

If you search Erbium minerals in the rruff database you will find that only this species contain erbium as a main element, so it is a real and interesting rarity. It occurs in this specimen as pinkish white crystal aggregates associated to yellow wakefieldite.

It is ugly, but it is a chemical oddity !
