Description

A lot of very small native cadmium nuggets in a capsule from the type locality for the mineral and only one of the four known localities worldwide.

Native cadmium is one of the rarest native elements, and a very sought after mineral for the collectors of native elements, since this species is almost never seen on the mineral market, much less in well identified and analyzed specimens, like this one (by SEM/EDS).

See copy of the analysis where it is shown that the purity of the cadmium nuggets is 97,7 % (total percentage) or 94,6% (atomic percentage).

The capsule also contain some honey yellow sphalerite as an impurity.

The specimen has a label in Russian from the supplier of this extreme rarity.
