Description

Minrecordite in well formed white crystals from the type locality in Tsumeb. Minrecordite, is a very rare calcium zinc carbonate named after the famous magazine The Mineralogical Record. Labeled as RR in Gebhard Tsumeb II book (very rare: single occurrence with more than 10 specimens).

Analyzed specimen by Gunnar Faerber: Several EDAX-SEM analyses on polished sections show a zonar growth with a variable but mostly dominant amount of Zinc over Magnesium
