Description

Tapiaite (IMA2014-024) is a extremely rare new mineral with formula Ca5Al2(AsO4)4(OH)4•12H2O. It occurs as colorless transparent tabular crystals with a vitreous luster. In this specimen it is associated to pale blue very nice joteite crystals, another very rare new mineral (IMA 2012-091). Tapiaite has only been found in this locality worldwide.

Outstanding under the microscope ! Two new minerals in a single specimen!
