Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Agua Prieta, Sonora, Mexico
Class:
Crystals on Matrix

Thumbnail (1-3cm)
Size:
2.5 × 2.1 × 0.7 cm
Description

Massive brownish-red ordoñezite associated to blue-green aggregates of zapatalite and yellowish-green chenevixite. I couldn't identify bystromite in the specimen, but it must be there since A.L.Kidwell was a very reputed mineralogist. The specimen needs additional research under the microscope to find out bystromite.

The precise locality is Fortune mine, close to Agua Prieta.

From the famous Ex.A.L. Kidwell collection, with original label included with the specimen, that will be sent to the buyer (see photo).
