Description

Outstanding specimen of the extremely rare new mineral xocolatlite (IMA 2007-020) from the type locality and one of the only two localities known worldwide. Xocolatlite crystals in this quality are rarely seen in the mineral market. 

The name xocolatlite is derived from the Nahuatl word 'xocolatl' or 'xocoatl', meaning 'bitter water', and is the root for 'chocolate', in reference to the mineral's chocolate-brown color, and the Mexican type-locality.
