Description

This specimen of Edenharterite is, by far, the rarest specimen in this auction, since up to 2008 only 106 samples had been found in the quarry (data from book "Faszination Lengenbach, 2008", p.188); after 2008 a only a few more specimes have been found, so it is an extreme rarity from Lengenbach. It occurs in this specimen as complex black crystals with a diagnostic rapsberry-red streak color (photos 1, 4 and 5); in total there are two agregates of crystals. In addition to edenharterite, there are in the sample two sharp shiny crystals of hatchite-wallisite series (photos 2 and 3) one of them completely surrounded by realgar. Edenharterite was discovered as a new species, together with still rarer stalderite and erniggliite, in the famous boulder which fell to the bottom of the quarry in 1985 that incentivated further research of the deposit. Don't miss the opporunity to get such extreme rarity from Lengenbach, of course type locality and the only locality known worldwide for edenharterite, hatchite and wallisite.
