Description

Nice blue crystals of extremely rare stranskiite, a Zn-Cu arsenate, in a matrix of quartz from the type locality for the species !. What is most interesting of this specimen is the three yellowish green patches of a mineral close to stranskiite that can be o'danielite for the paragenesis and aspect (2nd, 3rd, 5th and 6th photos, visual ID). O'danielite is one of the rarest minerals found at Tsumeb. Stranskiite was found in 1957 in the 30th level of the mine with only one specimen known for a long time (almost 40 years !).Ex-Excalibur Mineral Company specimen with label enclosed, that will be sent to the buyer. The mineral was labeled as RRR (extremely rare, single occurrence with less than 10 specimens known) in Gebhard 1999 Tsumeb II book.
