Description

Extremely rare new mineral with a very curious tubular shape which gives name to the mineral. Approved in 2011 (IMA 2011-109) and published in June 2012 in the Newsletter of Mineralogical Magazine. Type locality. Formula: Ag2Pb22Sb20S53. Very limited finding. The sample has one perfect slightly iridiscent (with a red shade) tube. A different sample of tubulite was pictured in the cover of "Italian Type Minerals" (Ciriotti el al. 2010) when the mineral was still unnamed. In addition to the tube, the rest of the hairy webs scattered on matrix are boulangerite. Very special specimen for the perfection of the tube!. Very nice under the microscope !.
