Description

Exceptional and very rich sample of the extremely rare new mineral (IMA 2007-022) demicheleite-(Br) in well formed reddish black crystals. The mineral is found only in this locality worldwide and it has an unusual chemistry, as it is a bismuth sulphide bromide (BiSBr). Of the almost 5000 minerals known only 17 have bromine in its composition, and this is one of them!. The mineral is even rarer than demicheleite-(Cl). Very nice under the microscope !.
