Description

An extraordinarily rare species and one of most sought after minerals from Tsumeb, this reinerite specimen is from the legrandite assemblage at Tsumeb (the 4400 level), the type and only known non-slag locality worldwide. Over the years, only 3 reinerite pockets have been discovered at Tsumeb: 1958, 1977 and 1992 from which this specimen comes from (the so called Zinc Pocket, or the legrandite assemblage). This Zinc Pocket produced the best reinerite ever found (Gebhard Tsumeb II book, p.261). The mineral (the first arsenite ever found on Earth) occurs as very small nearly colorless, frothy glass-like aggregates with an indredible luster under the microscope. Don't miss the opportunity to get such a rarity ! The sample has been analyzed and identified by Dr.Vandall T.King as stated in the Excalibur label.
