Description

Extremely rare orange coccinite, a mercury iodide mineral (HgI2) found only on two confirmed localities worldwide. Associated minerals in the sample are cinnabar, malachite, azurite, goethite and quartz in a limonite matrix.
Iodine minerals are extremely rare in Nature, only 25 I-bearing species are officially described by the IMA !.
