Description

A matrix of massive chalcocite and bright pyrite is host to some well-formed chalcocite hexagonal crystals, being the best of all shown in the photos. The specimen is almost covered y dull roxbyite, very rare, and found in few locations. The crystals of chalcocite are very good and with different habits.

Cobre Las Cruces Mine is the largest European open pit and is mined for its chalcocite with a high content in copper (6,2%).
