Kornelite Copiapite Voltaite & Szomolnokite

Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Rio Tinto Mines, Huelva, Andalusia, Spain
Size Range:
Miniature (4.5-7 cm)
Size:
5 × 4.4 × 2.3 cm
Description

Spherical aggregates of acicular crystals of kornelite are set over roemerite. The purple color in the center is due to the fact to the mix with coquimbite while outer parts of the groups are pure kornelite.

There some very good microcrystals of voltaite, masses of szomolnokite crystals plus aesthetic fans of halotrichite hanged over the kornelite groups. Scattered over the specimen are small yellow groups of copiapite adding contrast to this exceptional specimen from this closed locality. This is my last kornelite to be sold.

Superb specimen!
