Description

A floater deep smoky gray sphalerite crystal is the matrix for a single, silvery/gray freibergite crystal. The freibergite, 3mm, is sharply tetrahedral as is typical for the species and has been ascertained to have sufficient silver in the lattice to be accurately identified.

There are many specimens sold from this location that are labeled as freibergite but after analysis are identified as argentian tetrahedrite. Legitimate freibergite is quite rare.

Mined 2002.
