Description

Motukoreaite tabular to foliaceous crystals forming rosette aggregates (1-1.5mm), on phillipsite matrix. As part of the recent re-evaluation of the nomenclature of the hydrotalcite supergroup (Mills et al., 2012), motukoreaite was identified as a questionable species which needs further investigation. The range of composition currently ascribed to motukoreaite may represent more than one species.
