Description

An interesting, if aesthetically challenged, example of chalcanthite. This is part of a larger stalactic mass recovered from Number 4 Level, Wheal Jane in 1978. The outer side shows a typical vitreous or resinous plastic look and reveals pseudo-rhombohedral formation retained on the surface. The inner side is granular but hints at the blueish green colourisation which alludes to the synonym of ‘Blue Vitriol’.
