This specimen features a 0.3 mm long boulangerite cylinder in a vug of calcite. A small ring is also visible as well as several free-standing strands of boulangerite.

This piece was collected by Reiner Mielke, the author of a 1977 thesis Boulangerite and Associated Minerals of the Rogers Mine, Madoc, Ontario. His paper discusses how boulangerite rings and tubes are formed. It is proposed that micro-tubes were initiated by capillary forces acting on very thin lamellar crystallites around gas bubbles or liquid droplets.
