Description

Almandine crystals from this locality are usually poorly developed with dull faces and numerous biotite inclusions.

This is an unusual specimen in that the crystal shown in the header shot is well-defined and the faces are lustrous, with relatively few inclusions.

Two crystals are on the reverse side of the piece.

The matrix is biotite schist.
