Description

This is a specimen of native silver on a matrix of metasediment. The matrix is also shot through with veinlets of native silver. The piece has been etched out of calcite. Light reflecting off the irregular surfaces of the silver creates a nice sparkle.
Also present are micro crystals of arsenopyrite and minor amounts of acanthite and skutterudite.

The piece weighs approximately 255 grams. We estimate that the specimen contains 4 troy ounces of silver.
