Description

Two dark brown staurolite crystals to 2.7 cm form a cross on a plate of silver-grey, sugary muscovite schist. Numerous smaller staurolite crystals as well as ruby-red micro-garnet crystals cover the surface.

On the reverse, the muscovite is less granular and takes on the sheen of polished aluminum. The red stain on this side is from hematite.
