Description

Numerous specks ( to 1mm) and veinlets of gold ( to 3mm long) in veins of grey quartz in a mafic quartz diorite.

The gold is clearly visible in the photos. The gold is associated with chalcopyrite and abundant grey metallic unknowns.

The grey metallic mineral(s) are one or more of the following: violarite, maucherite, froodite, michenerite, hessite, gersdorffite, wittichenite, or sudburyite; as described by Molnar,Watkinson & Jones 2003 "Geology and high grade hydrothermal PGE mineralization of the Vermilion quartz diorite offset dike, Sudbury, Canada."
