Description

This is a specimen of mildly radioactive, massive allanite - Ce. Also present are white lanthanite-La micro-crystals which form a crust over the allanite. Crystals of hydroxylbastnäsite-(La) are possibly present. These species were confirmed by Pavel Kartashov. See http://www.mindat.org/photo-436217.html and http://www.mindat.org/photo-436215.html . The piece weighs approximately 120 grams.
