Very special fibrous quartz with parallel ingrown hornblende fibers. This material  has a chattoyance - a 'cat's eye' effect when cut and polished to cabochons. These were professionally done in Hof, Bavaria and is present in old family jewelry. Very rare material I've just heard about for the first time.

This cats eye is quartz with hornblende inclusions.
