Locality:
Mjåvatn, Froland, Aust-Agder, Norway
Class:
Combination
Size Range:
Thumbnail (1-3cm)
Size:
2.1 × 1.5 × 1 cm
Description

This is a very curious and interesting specimen. Brown titanite crystals shape a bowl- or boat-like floater. Inside a thin green crystal is bridging the gap between the sides. Several other small, acicular crystals on the in- and outside (hard to photograph). I'm sure those are members of the clinopyroxene supergroup, probably aegirine, but they are not yet certainly identified/analyzed. Mindat explicititly excludes hedenbergite (original label).
