Locality:
Hirschau Quarry, Böckstein, St Johann im Pongau District, Salzburg, Austria
Size Range:
Cabinet (10-18 cm)
Size:
11 × 10 × 9 cm
Description

In April 2011 we opened a pocket which features the best color which was ever mined at the locality. This pocket produced only little quantity and this is the last one for sale. Usually the Fluorite from Hirschwald is nearly colorless to light green, not so here. The colour is a very strong, darker green. The upper section includes no matrix, so it is very translucent with backlight. The faces are not etched, the edges are partly multiple-stepped. The crystals are up to 33 mm one edges, this dimension is very rare for Hirschwald.
